Group Home Manager / Full Time

We are seeking a full-time Group Home Manager to oversee daily operations and provide direct care in a group home setting. The role is based in Galax, VA, with typical hours Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, though some flexibility is required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and support staff, including monthly shift observations.

  • Provide direct care to residents (at least 30% of the time).

  • Ensure compliance with regulations and maintain accurate records.

  • Manage home budgets and expenses.

  • Maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable home environment.

  • Plan and implement programs and activities for residents.

  • Handle administrative tasks and occasional shift coverage.

  • Participate in the Leadership Team to support quality and risk management.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities, autism, physical disabilities, or mental health needs.

  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.

  • Able to supervise staff across all shifts.

  • Willing to occasionally respond to off-hour calls (stipend provided).

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to provide hands-on care including lifting, bending, standing, kneeling, walking, etc.

 

Minimum Requirements for All Positions

18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or GED

Pass Criminal Background check and Child Protective registry checks.

Valid Driver’s license with satisfactory DMV score and no DUI’s. Current auto ins.

Pass pre-employment and random drug screenings.

Meet physical requirements of the position to include the basic ability to lift, bend, stoop, reach, push/pull, stand, sit, walk, use hands and fingers, kneel, crouch, talk, hear, and see.

All offers of employment are contingent upon passing a drug screening, criminal background, and child protective service registry as well as having a clean driving record (no DUIs) with a point balance of zero or greater. Medical fitness exams are required for services that exceed our standard physical requirements. Minimum education is GED or greater. Use of the employee’s vehicle may be required. Persons selected for employment must satisfactorily complete all orientation and training requirements and be a match for the assigned service as determined by the individuals supported and his/her family as appropriate.
