Direct Support Professional / Full and Part Time

We are seeking energetic applicants for open position in our group homes in Galax, and in-home services in Galax and Marion. Our work is helping children and adults with I/DD achieve greater independence in their home and communities. Paid training is provided! After school, breaks, and summer hours available.

 

Job duties include helping others to reach their goal of independence through support with activities of daily living, increasing friendships and social connections in the individual’s home and community, maintaining health and safety, and more.

Successful candidates are dependable, creative, active, fun-loving, possess good decision-making skills, able to report/document the support provided objectively and professionally, and be able to work independently and in a team environment.

Available Schedules:

Services working with children are after school hours and may become daytime hours during the summer break.

Morning to afternoon – Galax and Marion

Afternoon to evening – Galax 

Weekends (includes an increased pay differential) – Galax

 Awake Overnight – Galax

Residential Manager / Full Time

CapElite is seeking a full-time Group Home Manager to oversee daily operations and provide direct care in a group home setting. The role is based in Galax with typical hours Monday through Friday 7 am to 3 PM, though some flexibility is required. Key responsibilities include supervising and support staff, including monthly shift observations,  providing direct care, ensuring compliance with regulations and maintaining accurate records, manage home budgets and expenses, maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable home environment, plan and implement programs and activities for residents, handle administrative tasks and occasional shift coverage, and participate in the Leadership Team to support quality and risk management. 

Requirements include experience with with individuals with disabilities, strong leadership and organizational skills, ability to supervise staff across all shifts, and willingness to occasionally respond to off-hours calls.Other skills required are solid money management, excellent documentation skills, communication and conflict resolution, and use of technology. 

Minimum Requirements for All Positions

18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or GED

Pass Criminal Background check and Child Protective registry checks.

Valid Driver’s license with satisfactory DMV score and no DUI’s. Current auto ins.

Pass pre-employment and random drug screenings.

Meet physical requirements of the position to include the basic ability to lift, bend, stoop, reach, push/pull, stand, sit, walk, use hands and fingers, kneel, crouch, talk, hear, and see.
